Yellow Flag Iris (pseudacorus)
This native is a strong growing reed that produces beautiful yellow flowers between May and June. It is a hardy, native species and dies back over winter producing new growth each spring.
It will grow to around 1.2m (4ft) and can be planted down to 30cm (12") of water. It is ideal in lakes and large ponds, but because of it's height, consideration to whether it may look too big should be taken before putting into very small ponds.
This plant dies back over winter and shoots again in the early spring.
