Sweet Galingale - Cyperus longus
This tall, hardy marginal plant has pendulous grass like foliage with a slightly serrated edge. It is a tall, elegant plant which stands long into the autumn and makes a handsome marginal plant architecturally. They will grow from 3 to 4ft (1m - 1.2m) tall, depending on conditions, and will multiply on their own. This reed will grow in water depths down to 8" (20cm) or in moist or boggy areas.
This listing is for a single root which will develop into a mature plant during this summer. It will be supplied bagged but not potted to save on postal costs. The plant dies back over winter growing new shoots from around February. Expect a plant with roots and shoots if early in the year or later in the year they will be supplied up to around 12" (30cm) high
You will have to pot this plant using aquatic soil or plant directly into a boggy area on arrival. We would suggest a small or medium lily basket
