Summer Snowflake Gratiola Officinalis
Gratiola officinalis - summer snowflake/hedge hyssop
British native for wetland meadows, marshes, streams and ponds. Attractive foliage and white trumpet flowers throughout Summer. Excellent wildlife plant, especially attractive to bumble bees. Ideally suited to shallow water, damp soil, bog gardens and streams.
Flower: white
Flowering Time: June to August
Planting Depth: 0-15cm
Height: up to 40cm
You can reduce the depths of your margins by sitting the planting baskets on concrete blocks or similar.
You will receive a young plant around 5 - 10cm 2" - 4" high, with some leaves and will be sent in it's rooted form to save on postal costs. It will require potting on receipt. NOTE: if you are buying during winter or early spring there will be no leaves, just root, but it's a good time to plant as it gives the roots a chance to get established for the warmer weather.
This plants can be planted directly into boggy areas or into the bottom of lakes/ponds. If there is a liner, we suggest using a water planting basket. Use aquatic soil, topped with heavy gravel or large stones. Alternate ways can be offered if you contact us.
