Mottled Beauty Laevigata Iris
Supplied Bare-root
Beautiful aquatic perennial Iris laevigata 'Mottled Beauty' is prized for its showy, large blooms and decorative foliage. This variety blooms from late spring to early summer and features stunning deep violet-blue flowers with subtle white mottling. When planted near ponds, water gardens, or damp garden sections, the graceful, sword-like green leaves create a striking vertical accent.
Plant in full sun to partial shade in rich, moist soil. Because "Mottled Beauty" grows best in consistently damp conditions, it can be planted in bog gardens, next to water features, or in shallow water as shallow as 15cm (6"). Water frequently to maintain soil moisture, particularly in arid periods.
You can reduce the depths of your margins by sitting the planting baskets on concrete blocks or similar.
You will receive a young plant around 4"-6" (10-15cm) high, with some leaves and will be sent in it's rooted form to save on postal costs. It will require potting on receipt.
This plants can be planted directly into boggy areas or into the bottom of lakes/ponds. If there is a liner, we suggest using a water planting basket. Use aquatic soil, topped with heavy gravel or large stones. Alternate ways can be offered if you contact us.
