Devon Water Plants
In our shop you will see that the plants are split into catagories:
Marginal and boggy area. Here you will find a large range of water plants that grow from the bottom (or from your planting container) to the surface, then grow out above the surface. You will see Iris, Reeds, Rushes, Grasses, Sedges, Creeping plants. The recomended depth above the soil level is advised on each plant. If you have a deeper area to plant in this can often be achieved bu adding blocks to the bottom and sitting the container on top. Ask for advice for other methods.
Water Lilies and Floating Plants This section will show what we have available in nymphia, alba traditional water lilies with their pads and lovely flowers. With other plants that grow from the bottom but only to the surface. You will also see when in season the popular Frogbit plant. This little plant with lily shaped leaves is one of our best sellers.
Oxygenating Plants These are plants that produce oxygen during daylight hours and generally grow from the bottom just to the surface, They are often referred to as pond weed. For a balanced pond these are essential to have and are particularly good for widlife and fish, frogs, newts and toads to spawn against. Then giving cover for fish fry and tadpoles.

Plants for Water Features and Small Ponds We have added this catagory for the people looking for plants that do not normally grow to large and look out of place in small volume waters. From small buckets and containers to the small pre-formed ponds, this list narrows down your choice.
Plants Suitable For Small Ponds Although all water plants have some use to wildlife, we have added a selection of plants that are particularly useful for people trying to produce a natural habitat, good for insects, birds frogs, newts and toads etc.
Plants for Lakes If you have a lake that requires water plants, look in this catagory to find plants good for re-inforcing banks. These are generally the plants that grow larger with a strong root system and will not be lost to sight. Whether you have a fishing lake or a extra large pond you will see which plants we recomend for that environment in this catagory.
